01. What is SMS ALERT?

  SMS ALERT is an EXCARD text message notification service exclusively for EXCARD Members to receive notifications they requested on their hand phones pertaining to their orders and such. This service provides convenience as users will receive updates almost instantly and anywhere.
 

 
 

02. What sort of notifications can I receive using SMS ALERT?

  This would depend on the type of Plan you subscribe.

03. What is a Plan? What is a Package?

A Plan is a type of notification service available from SMS ALERT. Package refers to the subscription period of a Plan.

 

04. How do I Subscribe for SMS ALERT? Where do I start?

Go to EXCARD Mobile > SMS ALERT > Subscribe:
follow the online instructions. You will also be asked to verify your hand phone number in order to activate your SMS ALERT account. You only have to do this once during your subscription. Only nomination/registration of new or additional hand phone numbers or change of hand phone number requests will require verification.

 

05. How will I verify my hand phone number to activate my SMS ALERT account?

Once you have completed the online registration process, you will receive an SMS from us with a 6-digit verification code.
Login to your Online Member Account and go to EXCARD Mobile > SMS ALERT > Verify:
Enter the 6-digit verification code in the box. Your account will be activated as soon as verification code is confirmed.

 

06. Can I nominate/register more than 1 hand phone number?

Yes you may. However, bear in mind, each hand phone number you nominate is considered a registration and is subject to subscription. Also, you will need to go through a verification process for each hand phone number you nominate.

 

07. What are the charges for SMS ALERT?

To use this service, you will need to pay in advance, the subscription amount according to your choice of Plan and Package.

08. How do I pay my subscription?

The same way when you place a printing order with EXCARD: Once you subscribe to SMS ALERT, the subscription will be automatically deducted from your cash advance in your Online Member Account providing there is a sufficient amount.

 

09. How do I renew my subscription?

Go to EXCARD Mobile > SMS ALERT > Status: Choose the hand phone number you wish renew subscription for and follow the online instructions. Once you have completed the process, the subscription amount will be automatically deducted from your cash advance.

 

10. What if I forget to renew my subscription?

Your account will be terminated and you will need to register again.

 

11. How will I know when my subscription is coming to an end? 

You will receive a reminder via SMS and email a week before your subscription expires.

 

12. Can I add another Plan to my nominated hand phone number at a later time?

Yes you can, as long as you are still a registered user. Go to EXCARD Mobile > SMS ALERT > Status: Choose the hand phone number you wish to add a plan to and follow the online instructions. Once you have completed the process, the subscription amount will be automatically deducted from your cash advance.

 

13. What if I want to change the current hand phone number that I am receiving

      SMS ALERT notifications?

No problem. Go to EXCARD Mobile > SMS ALERT > Status:
Choose the hand phone number you wish to change and follow the online instructions. Bear in mind, there is a service charge of RM1 for each hand phone number you change. You will also have to go through the verification process again.

 

14. Can I use SMS ALERT to correspond with EXCARD?

No you may not. SMS ALERT service is for you to RECEIVE notifications you requested only. As this text messaging service is automated, no replies are required.

 

15. What is the number of SMS ALERT notifications that I will receive for my
      subscription? And how much will I be charged for each?

There is no fixed number: how many notifications you receive will depend on your usage of EXCARD services that will warrant notifications according to your choice of plan and package. We do not charge you for each notification but for your use of SMS ALERT services according to your Plan and Package.

 

16. How many repeat notifications will I receive for each case?

We will only notify you once for each case.

 

17. Will I receive notices that I have requested for if my hand phone is switched off?

Your SMS Alert requests will be sent out regardless if your hand phone is switched off. Whether you receive them once you switch your hand phone back on, or how long your messages will be kept will depend on your service provider.

 

18. Can SMS ALERT be used with all networks and phones?

We can only provide this notification service to a hand phone registered on a Malaysia network (012, 013, 014, 016, 017, 019) and not to a fixed line telephone, a computer capable of receiving text messages or a 'virtual' hand phone.

 

19. Will I receive the SMS ALERT notifications that I have requested for if I'm roaming?

It depends on whether the roaming network you are on supports SMS. If it does, you will receive SMS ALERT notifications if you are roaming. The time and date of your notifications may be affected depending on the local time at the country you are at. The SMS ALERT notifications will be sent in Malaysian time.

 

20. What happens to the notifications if I disconnect,

      temporarily suspend or get barred by a network service provider?

If your line is disconnected, your notices will not be delivered to you. If your line is temporarily suspended, you will receive the notices when your line is reactivated. If your line is barred, you will still receive your notices.

 

21. What should I do if my hand phone is lost or stolen?

You should notify us immediately of your situation or we will continue to send text messages to the nominated hand phone number. If you are unable to use your nominated hand phone number, you will have to request a change of hand phone number. (Go to EXCARD Mobile > SMS ALERT > Status: Choose the hand phone number you wish to change and follow the online instructions.) Bear in mind, there is a service charge of RM1 for each hand phone number you change. You will also have to go through the verification process again.

 

22.Will SMS ALERT notifications be sent at the exact time a case that

     warrants notification happens?

There will be instances when the SMS ALERT notifications may be delayed a few minutes.

 

23. How do I cancel my subscription for this service?

 You will have to unsubscribe yourself from this service.
Go to EXCARD Mobile > SMS ALERT > Status: Choose the hand phone number you wish to unsubscribe and follow the online instructions. However, no full refunds or prorated refunds for subscription or service cancellations will be granted.
