REGULATIONS & ELIGIBILITY

  1. The Competition is open to all Malaysian citizens; Student of art, graphic designer, freelancer are in particular invited to participate in the contest as individuals or as a team;
  2. Participation in the competition is free of charge.
  3. This competition is governed in whole by Excard Calendar Design Contest 2020 general terms agreement, condition of use.

COMPETITION DESCRIPTION

  1. The Competition consists of proposing designs for LANDSCAPE Wire-O Calendar (150mm x 215mm)
  2. Submitted designs must be original and should not have been created prior to the submission date;

ARTWORK REQUIREMENT

  1. Template must be downloaded and use for submission.
  2. Artwork submission must be PRINTABLE and EDITABLE. With but not limit with partial list shown below:
    • Artwork only implemented in designated area shown in template.
    • All design and image are in CMYK color mode.
    • Ensure resolution of all images are set to 800dpi - 1200dpi.
    • PDF (vector) files must prepare for artwork and ZIP when in submission.
  3. Submission that is violated the requirement will be provoke and required to resend.

AWARD CRITERIA

  1. All submission will undergo the following judging criteria:
OVERALL DESIGN
  1. Has the ‘WOW’ factor!
  2. Is immediately eye catching.
  3. There is an excellent relationship and flow between the elements of the calendar.
THEME PRESENTATION
  1. Strong and clear link between chosen theme of the topic and the final artwork submission.
CREATIVITY
  1. Outstanding skill showing imagination and creativity in content.
  2. Superior attempt in creating an artwork that shows originality and has consider composition.
  3. Outstanding and imaginative skill in invoking mood and sending a very clear message.
TECHNICAL
  1. All design elements (eg:headings, text and images/symbols) are highly appropriate and fonts, sizes, colours and alignments have been well thought through.
  2. Graphics/titles have been used exceptionally to enhance the topic or message.
  3. Artwork submission must be PRINTABLE and EDITABLE.
  1. Judge panel, employees and associate company of Excard Corporation Sdn Bhd or close relatives thereto are not eligible to enter the Competition.
  2. The winning entry will be selected by a panel comprised of officials and employees of Excard. Their decision will be final and no further correspondence shall be entered into.
  3. Excard reserves the right not to select a winner, if it assesses that no suitable entries are deemed to have been received.
  4. In the event the Winner is not available within five (5) days of being contacted, the Winner will be re-selected. Potential winners will be notified by email. To claim the prize, the potential winner should follow the instructions contained in his/her notification.

  1. Finalist Prize (drawing tablet) are non-transferable and may not be substituted for cash.
  2. All taxes and other expenses not expressly specified herein as part of the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner.

TERM & CONDITIONS

  1. The winning contestant will be required to surrender all and full copyright of the design submitted. Graphics become the property of Excard Corporation Sdn Bhd upon entry and may be used for promotional purposed.
  2. Excard just reserves the right to accept or reject any entry or to annul or cancel the contest at any time prior to the payment of the prizes, without thereby incurring any liability to the affected contestants
  3. Excard will not be liable for, or pay for, any damage, expenses, losses, or disappointment which may be incurred by the contestants in their preparation of their entries, nor by any not being able to take part in the competition.
  4. By submit your contested artwork, you have full responsible for the designs and agree to release all rights in such design including, without limitation; copyrights, patents, design rights, trademarks, moral rights, etc. Excard will not held responsible for any dispute upon question of legal right of the submitted artwork.
  5. Excard is authorised to publish: The name of the winner; the locality of the winner; the amount awarded; the nature and purpose of the measure, i.e. the contest.
  6. If the winner is determined to have violated any rules, he/she will be required to forfeit or return the prize, even if the determination is made after the prize has been awarded.
  7. Excard will have the right to reject any entry that it deems, in its sole discretion, inappropriate, illegal, prohibitaed and/or in violation of the terms or spirit of these Official Rules.

Contestants participating in this contest fully agree with all the rules of this contest.
